NASA Exhibit at COM Week of April 27

From Earth to the Universe, exhibit banner

Kentfield, CA—April 13, 2009--College of Marin will host the exhibit “From Earth to the Universe” in honor of the International Year of Astronomy. In an attempt to bring the beauty of astronomy to the general public, the exhibit features images taken from both ground- and space-based telescopes. Images have been selected to represent the wide range of observations available in modern astronomy and will include planets, comets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters, and more. The exhibit will be on display from Monday, April 27, to Friday, May 1, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., on the first floor of the College of Marin Learning Resources Center, 835 College Ave, Kentfield, CA. The event is open to the public. There is no fee for the event, but a parking fee of $3 is required to park in college lots.

This exhibit is funded by NASA’s Lunar Science Institute at Ames, NASA’s Fermi and Swift astrophysics missions via Sonoma State University, the Kepler and SOFIA missions via the SETI Institute, and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, Lockheed Martin, and several other organizations.
