Credit English as a Second Language Placement Tests and Success Orientations

Application to the College of Marin

Before signing up for a Placement Test, you must complete an online application for admission to College of Marin HERE and recieve a college student identification number (#M00). 

NOTE:  Students must submit an Application through CCC Apply. You will receive an email within24 hours that will include your COM Student Identification Number (M00#) and log-in user names and passwords to the MyCOM Portal and your next steps.

Signing Up for English Placement Test

Testing is done by appointment through and at the Assessment and Testing Office Monday through Thursday either at 9 am. or at 1 pm.  The phone number to schedule an appointment for an test is 415-485-9469.

NOTE: A COM student is ID number (M00#)is mandatory to schedule the appointment for the placement test. Please bring your COM student ID and a photo ID to the test.

Signing up for a Credit ESL Orientation

After taking an English placement test, students must participate in an orientation.

You must make an appointment in advance to attend an orientation and can be scheduled through the Testing office right after the test, the counseling office, or the ESL office.

  3. 415-485-9469 (the Testing office)

Check in 15 minutes before the orientation starts.
