Preparing for Campus Emergencies
Are you prepared for an emergency on campus? Attend this class to learn what to do during different campus emergencies. Learn how to respond to a fire, power outage, flood, earthquake or an active killer. We will discuss emergency notifications, evacuations and drills.

Our Role to Ensure Student Equity

This workshop will invite participants to reflect on their own experiences of diversity to better understand their role in achieving equity.  Through case studies and discussion, participants will learn how to work across differences to better serve each other and the students at COM.

Art of Listening and Giving Feedback

Communication is a vital part of our daily lives. It is a learned skill that’s often taken for granted and done badly. Listening can be confused with hearing. People often hear someone, but don’t realize that they are not listening to them. Learn the art of effectively listening to others and how to communicate better.

Be inspired by the visual moments that surround us. Once you pause to take note of the vibrancy of colors, textures, and shapes, you’ll be surprised and enlightened by these details. See beyond the norm; look from a different perspective. This is an interactive session where you will explore Kentfield through your own lens. Bring your smartphone, camera, or other picture-taking devices.

De-escalating Emotionally Charged Conflicts

During this training, Brian King, COM mental health counselor, will talk about heightened emotional states and offer specific strategies on how to handle conflicts with others, including students and members of the public.
