Creating Accessible Documents Series

Join College of Marin’s accessibility experts for a practical, hands-on three-part series designed to help students, faculty, and staff create and remediate accessible digital documents using Microsoft Word, PDF, and PowerPoint.

In Session 1, we will focus on Microsoft Word. You will learn how to apply accessibility best practices step-by-step, including:

  • Structuring headings properly
  • Writing effective alternative text for images
  • Choosing accessible fonts and colors
  • Using Microsoft Word’s built-in accessibility checker
We’ll provide a sample Word document to work with, and you’re encouraged to bring your own document to practice remediating in real time. The session will conclude with a Q&A to support your specific needs and questions.
