Join College of Marin’s accessibility experts for a practical, hands-on three-part series designed to help students, faculty, and staff create and remediate accessible digital documents using Microsoft Word, PDF, and PowerPoint.
Session 3: Accessible PowerPoint Presentations
In this session we will focus on creating and remediating Microsoft PowerPoint documents. We will provide a sample PowerPoint to work with and demonstrate how to correct the document for improved accessibility.
The session will conclude with a Q&A to support your specific needs and questions. You are encouraged to bring your own document to practice during the Q & A.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
· Identify key accessibility principles relevant to PowerPoint documents, including readability, structure, and compatibility with assistive technologies.
· Use slide layouts and templates appropriately
· Add and edit alternative text for images, charts, and other visual elements
· Verify and adjust slide object reading order
· Use Microsoft’s built-in accessibility tool, to evaluate and improve document accessibility
· Save and export documents into PDF format that preserves its accessibility
