Class Section Textbook Cost Definitions

Zero Textbook Cost
Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) classes offer free access to all textbooks, books, software, and homework systems required for the class.
Low Textbook Cost
Low Textbook Cost (LTC) classes have a required textbook and software cost that is less than $30 total.
Open Educational Resources
Open Educational Resources are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, and research. OER is just one type of material that can be used to make a class ZTC.

XB12: Instructional Material Cost

XB12 is a data element reported to the California Community College Chancellor’s Office that reflect the cost of course materials for each class section. Textbook Attributes are indicated in the schedule to help students find classes.
