An Evening With U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón

Kentfield, CA – Join College of Marin (COM) for a memorable evening with Ada Limón, the 24th Poet Laureate of the United States. This free event offers an enriching experience featuring poetry, performance, and community connection. 

The evening includes an on-stage interview with Ms. Limón, conducted by COM English Instructor Stephanie Wells, as well as selected readings from her distinguished body of work. Guests will also enjoy a special performance by the COM Drama Department, presenting an excerpt from Miracle Fish, a drama inspired by Ms. Limón’s poetry. 

For the past year, COM has immersed itself in Ada Limón’s poetry, celebrating themes of nature, humanity, and resilience. This event marks the culmination of this journey and warmly invites the community to take part in this literary celebration. 
Ada Limón is the author of six acclaimed poetry books, including The Carrying, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry. Her most recent book, The Hurting Kind, was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize. A recipient of the Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellowships, Ms. Limón was named a TIME magazine Woman of the Year in 2024.
